No. It’s not a typo. Trial lawyer and winemaker, Theodora Lee is known, as “”Theo-patra,” Queen of the Vineyards – in California’s Yorkville Highlands. I am on a mission to meet vintners of color and women who craft quality wines – and to taste every singe one! So I’d hoped to have an opportunity to meet “Theo-patra” at Zuri Wine-tasting’s Annual Wine Over LA Festival. She was not in attendance, but I did have the pleasure to taste a selection of her wines – and her 2013 Petit Sirah was on point!
This Theopolis Vineyard release is winner of Best in Class, Double Gold and 95 Points, at the 2016 San Francisco International Wine Competition – among other accolades. With dark fruit flavors of anise, black cherry and plum, with a dash of chocolate, this wine could be my daily bread. I enjoyed this Petit Sirah with cheese and prosciutto.
